Description
Yamaha YDS-152 Digital Saxophone
Play the saxophone whenever you want, wherever you want. Featuring Yamaha’s unique Integrated Bell Acoustic System, the YDS-152 digital saxophone allows you to control the volume while maintaining a natural and harmonious playing experience. Combining acoustic and digital technologies with advanced modelling, it is a new-generation saxophone that brings together the benefits of digital technology while offering the same expressive feel as an acoustic instrument.
4 TYPES OF SAXOPHONE SOUNDS, 56 PRESETS
The YDS-152 features 56 different saxophone sounds covering soprano, alto, tenor, and baritone saxophones, making it suitable for a wide range of genres and playing styles. You can also play sounds from other instruments, such as shakuhachi, flute, electronic instruments, and more, for a total of 87 sounds.
The complete list of sounds is also available in the owner's manual.
KEY POSITION
The key layout is based on Yamaha acoustic saxophones, providing an intuitive and seamless playing experience. You can also change the fingering system using the dedicated app.
BRASS BELL
The brass bell is made from the same material used for Yamaha acoustic saxophones. Drawing on our expertise and experience in crafting acoustic instruments, we designed this bell to reproduce the natural projection of wind instruments as well as the delicate nuances of pianissimo playing.
The resonance created by the bell causes the entire instrument to vibrate, allowing you to physically feel the music as you play.
MOUTHPIECE
For a natural, expressive, and comfortable playing experience, the YDS-152 features a mouthpiece designed in the same way as that of an acoustic saxophone. It can be removed for easy maintenance.
BREATH SENSOR
The breath sensor detects the strength (pressure) of your breath, allowing you to control not only the intensity but also the tone and expression of your sound as you play.
INTEGRATED BELL ACOUSTIC SYSTEM
Yamaha’s exclusive Integrated Bell Acoustic System gives you the best of both worlds: high-quality digital sound combined with the expressive response of an acoustic wind instrument.
This advanced new system consists of a speaker, speaker enclosure, acoustic tube, and genuine brass bell. It responds to your breath through the mouthpiece and digitally generates a sound that drives the speaker, causing the brass bell to resonate and vibrate.
In fact, the entire instrument resonates with the sound, and this vibration is transmitted back to you — through the mouthpiece to your mouth and through the keys to your fingertips.
The result is an instrument that breathes, moves, and vibrates in response to your playing, delivering the expressive feel of an acoustic saxophone together with the full capabilities of a digital instrument.
EXTERNAL CONNECTIONS
The YDS-152 features an auxiliary input for connecting devices such as smartphones. This allows you to play along with an external audio source* and enjoy the feeling of performing as part of an ensemble.
*Audio from the external source must be output through the headphone jack.
INCLUDED
Supplied with a protective case.
